Godsday the 18th of Planting, Common Year 589
The group of intrepid adventurers went back to the Temple of Heironeous in order to allow Naimi to recover from the spider bite. Once Naimi was healed, the push into the forest continued!
Wary of the spiders, Rain made an effort to search out their webs in hope of finding cocoons of adventurers carry treasure or magic to their dooms. Rain spotted a cocoon and retrieved it from a web high in a tree. Unfortunately, Rain alerted the spider to her presence and was bitten but not poisoned. The party killed the spider and tore open the cocoon only to find a dead squirrel.
Upon reaching the end of the forest path, the party came upon an archway leading into a mountain. On either side of the arch was a statue that was damaged and desecrated. Sarison detected an enchantment beyond the archway and Schmidt tried to activate it by tossing the squirrel into the passage. That had no effect so Rain attempted to disable the device. The attempt was unsuccessful and the glyph of warding triggered, much to Rain's dismay.
The commotion in the passageway alerted a group of nearby skeletons and caused them to attack. Sarison tangled the skeletons using a web spell and the undead creatures were overcome. The battle, however, was fierce and the party was forced to retreat to the temple of Heironeous in order to tend to their many wounds.
On Freeday, 21st of Planting, the party traveled back into the mountain passage finding two destroyed basins that once held holy water, a room in which someone lived many years ago, and a large fountain that spurted blood! Worse yet, skeletons rose from the fountain and attacked the party as they explored the area. Another heated battle took place and after the skeletons were defeated, yet another group of them rose from the fountain! The party beat a hasty retreat to the temple and rested for another two days before traveling back to Fairhill to enlist the aid of Kath, a priest of Kord.
On the 27th of Planting, the reinforced party made another push into the mountain passage. Kath identified the place as a holy tomb where the faithful priests of Heironeous and Mayaheine were laid to rest. The tomb had been defiled and bore many markings of the demon god Orcus! Upon entering the room with the blood fountain, four more skeletons rose to attack the party. Another pitched battle was joined with the party emerging victorious. However, there was no time to savor their good fortune for as the last skeleton fell, the party heard splashing coming from the fountain!
